A mother's comfort.
I’ve always known that material choice is a deeply personal one. Some like cream, others like blue, because we have all journeyed differently.
This came through very clearly recently, as we were choosing kitchen wall tiles.
One of our clients said she was going with a particular green tile because her mother’s place has it and seeing it gives her comfort.
It was a rather moving insight, and a reminder that our work isn’t just bricks and mortar, wood and paint. Materials are imbued with meaning, and that gives the process of material selection a deep purpose.
